Current Research Activities & Interests at the BCH

The schematic diagram above demonstrates an outline of the current research interests within the Paediatric Plastic Surgery Unit at The Birmingham Childrens Hospital. These include actual research projects underway as well as projects for which grants have been applied for. In the Cleft and Craniofacial Surgery sections there is an overlap in the scope of studies (outcome assessment, advanced imaging studies, facial palsy studies) that may allow for integration and the sharing of research resources. Cutaneous surgery interests may be further subdivided into “Burns & Wound healing” , “Dermatological & Vascular anomalies” and “Trunk reconstruction and tissue expansion”.
